MEET OMAR
Often, we don’t know who to choose when deciding who we want as a therapist. Having a sense of who the therapist is can give us a better understanding of what we will get out of therapy. Two women raised me, and I believe they taught me how to be kind, compassionate, and a good listener. I have also been active in sports my whole life. As a child, I played soccer. As an adult, I roll around with other men in jiu-jitsu or try to climb rocks, which has taught me to be calm under pressure. I hope to bring a calm presence, but more than anything, I will do my best to be myself in the room. If I can include humor, I will, and if I feel I need to relay a hard truth, you can trust that I will be honest with you.
At the heart of healing is the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to establish a strong, trusting bond with you, built on open and honest communication. I want you to feel truly heard and understood, and I am here to support you in developing, planning for, and working towards your goals.
“It is difficult to find happiness within oneself, but it is impossible to find it anywhere else.”-Arthur Schopenhauer.
Omar’s Specialties
Teen boys: In my work with teen boys struggling with social anxiety and video game addiction, I focus on building strong rapport and creating a safe, non-judgmental space for them to explore their experiences. I encourage them to reflect on their relationship with video games, helping them identify how they would like to understand and redefine it. By supporting them in setting personal goals and fostering accountability, I help them work toward meaningful progress and long-term growth.
Individuals struggling with depressive symptoms: I specialize in working with individuals using an existential psychotherapy approach. My practice focuses on helping clients explore life’s deeper questions, such as meaning, freedom, and personal responsibility. I aim to create a space where clients can confront their unique challenges, find clarity, and live more authentically. Together, we work to navigate the complexities of human existence, fostering resilience and self-awareness along the way.
Couples: In my work with couples, I use an emotion-focused approach to create a supportive environment where both partners can openly express their feelings. I reflect their emotions back to one another, fostering deeper understanding and empathy. By facilitating honest communication, I guide couples in identifying how they want to move forward together, helping them strengthen their emotional connection and navigate their relationship challenges.
