Therapist Specializing in Teens, Women & Couples

Finding a therapist based off of a website bio or Psychology Today profile can be overwhelming and even a little discouraging at times.
How are you supposed to find the "right" therapist just based off of their website bio or psychology today?
My hope is to make this first step towards healing as easy as possible because I know just getting yourself to a first session can seem challenging enough.
While I believe in the value of different therapeutic approaches, I find that nothing is as essential as the relationship you have with your therapist—how safe and comfortable you feel in their presence is what truly makes the difference.
As someone who has had some amazing therapists myself, I know that the best therapists are ones that know when to give us support and encouragement and when to challenge us to step out of our comfort zone when necessary.
My clients know that I show up in the room as completely myself. I will hold space for you to be vulnerable and do my best to be as supportive, loving and encouraging as possible. But, I will also be honest. I will hold you accountable when you need it and be your biggest cheerleader when you need that too.
My hope is that you'll find a safe space here where you can engage in the meaningful, challenging work of therapy.
Chances are if you’ve found yourself here you’re looking to do more “research” to find the best therapist for you or a loved one.

Celynna Harnetiaux LMFT: Therapy for Women in Redondo Beach & San Clemente
Empowering Women to Thrive
Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, striving for unattainable perfection, or struggling with body image and self-esteem? Do you find it difficult to set healthy boundaries in your personal or professional life? Are you constantly feeling tired and frustrated because it seems impossible to find the time to do it all? You’re not alone—and you don’t have to face these challenges on your own.
At my Redondo Beach practice, I specialize in providing therapy for women dealing with:
Anxiety: Managing stress, worry, and racing thoughts that can feel all-consuming.
Perfectionism: Addressing the pressure to always be “perfect” and learning how to embrace imperfection with compassion.
Body Image Issues: Navigating insecurities and societal pressures around physical appearance to develop a healthier relationship with your body.
Self-Esteem: Building confidence, self-worth, and self-compassion.
Boundary Setting: Learning to set and maintain healthy boundaries in relationships, both at home and work.
Feeling Overwhelmed: Supporting women who feel exhausted, frustrated, and unable to find time for themselves amid the demands of work, family, and personal obligations.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I also offer EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help process and heal from past trauma, anxiety, or other deeply rooted emotional struggles. EMDR is a highly effective approach that helps clients reprocess distressing memories and shift the way they respond to stressful or triggering situations.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore these issues and find strategies for growth and healing. Therapy is tailored to meet your unique needs, whether you're navigating a significant life transition or seeking ongoing support for long-standing issues.
My office offers an inviting environment for our sessions. Additionally, I offer walk-and-talk therapy for those who feel more comfortable in motion, making the most of our coastal surroundings.

Symptoms of ADHD in Women
ADHD in women can often be masked by their ability to "mask" symptoms or adapt in certain situations, leading to the misconception that they don’t have the condition. If you're noticing these symptoms, it may be helpful to speak with a professional to better understand how ADHD may be affecting your life.
-
Difficulty staying focused: Women with ADHD may struggle to concentrate on tasks, especially those that are lengthy or require sustained mental effort.
Frequent forgetfulness: Forgetting appointments, important dates, or daily tasks can be common.
Disorganization: Difficulty keeping track of things, managing time, and keeping spaces tidy.
Lack of attention to detail: Making careless mistakes in tasks because of missing important details.
Procrastination: Putting off tasks or feeling overwhelmed by them, leading to last-minute work or avoidance.
-
Difficulty waiting for turn: Impulsive speech or actions, such as interrupting conversations.
Making impulsive decisions: Impulse buying, sudden career changes, or rash decisions in relationships.
Emotional outbursts: Strong emotional reactions, including frustration or irritability, without prior warning
-
Restlessness: Feeling the need to move constantly or experiencing physical restlessness, such as tapping fingers or bouncing legs.
Difficulty relaxing: Struggling to unwind and feeling agitated even when it's time to relax.
Talkativeness: Excessive talking or speaking out of turn, especially when nervous or excited.
-
Chronic lateness: Struggling to keep track of time, leading to constant tardiness or missed deadlines.
Overcommitment: Taking on too many responsibilities and struggling to manage them effectively.
Underestimating time needed: Poor estimation of how long tasks will take, leading to last-minute rushes.
-
Low self-esteem: Constantly feeling inadequate or comparing oneself to others, often due to difficulties meeting expectations.
Mood swings: Rapid emotional changes, such as feeling euphoric one moment and then frustrated or upset soon after.
Anxiety or depression: Many women with ADHD also experience higher levels of anxiety or depression, often linked to the challenges of managing ADHD symptoms.
-
Struggles with communication: Interrupting others, not always listening, or forgetting important details about relationships.
Feeling misunderstood: A sense of being judged or not understood by others, especially in family or work settings.
Inconsistent performance: Sometimes excelling at tasks, but other times falling short due to poor attention or emotional regulation.
-
Overthinking: Women with ADHD may overthink tasks and details to avoid making mistakes or feeling inadequate.
High expectations of self: Trying to meet excessively high standards to compensate for perceived shortcomings.
Burnout: A tendency to overwork or push themselves to the limit in order to manage symptoms, which can lead to emotional and physical exhaustion.

Questions about Insurance?
Using out of network benefits to help cover the cost of therapy can be complicated, frustrating and honestly quite discouraging-but it doesn’t have to be. To make the process seamless, we use Mentaya, a platform that helps clients get money back on therapy—without the hassle of filing claims themselves.
How does it work?
-
Fill out the “Mentaya check your insurance benefits form” and we will confirm your out of network benefits for you.
-
Schedule your complimentary consultation with your preferred therapist. During the consultation call we will go over your benefits and an estimated cost of your reimbursement for our services.
Not sure who your preferred therapist is? No problem! Fill out the contact form and let us know a little bit about you and what you are looking for. From there, we’ll guide you in finding the therapist who’s the best fit for your needs.
-
That’s it! Begin therapy and after your session:
✔ We submit claims for you—you don’t have to do a thing.
✔ Mentaya handles the reimbursement process with your insurance.
✔ If your insurance offers out-of-network benefits, you’ll receive reimbursement directly.(Note: Mentaya charges a small fee for claim processing, handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies, but only if you receive reimbursement.) It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.
